HCRN Adds Five Centers

HCRN investigators met in Pittsburgh PA during the week of April 20, 2016 for our semi-annual investigator meeting.  The meeting included presentations from each of the five new HCRN centers that were culled from 20 applications received in response to HCRN’s Request For Applications (RFA) for new centers.  The RFA was posted in the Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics in January 2016.  We are excited to welcome Dr. Edward Ahn (Johns Hopkins), Dr. Todd Hankinson (Colorado Children’s Hospital), Dr. Mark Krieger (Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles) and Dr. Jonathan Pindrick (Nationwide Children’s Hospital). Also congratulations to Dr. Jay Riva-Cambrin, who recently moved to Calgary in Canada on the addition of Alberta Children’s Hospital.  These new sites will work to begin enrolling patients in our PCORI funded Entry Site Trial and the HCRN Registry as soon as possible.

  1. I am so excited to see more and more research and trials available.
My son has had his current shunt since 2000/2001.

Nothing like what you are doing.

We were just told not to expect him to make it in the next 24 hours, just be prepared.

    He was born in 1989.
His 27th birthday is May 16 and we are blessed to have him.

If I we can ever help in any way, please let us know and we will endeavor to help in every way.
Being part of your trials, answering questions, whatever you need.
